Our Himalayan Orchard Journey
BIO – Deepak Orchard is a family-run Himalayan Orchard located in Khaprona Village, near Punder Valley, Maraog, Himachal Pradesh. Through this Bio, we aim to share the journey of our orchard, our experiences, and the knowledge we have gained over the years.
We began apple cultivation in 2015 with limited knowledge but a strong passion for horticulture.
Experience in Apple Growing and Orchard Management
Over time, through training with local and experienced orchardists, combined with hands-on experience, we have developed a comprehensive understanding of orchard management, seasonal care, and sustainable fruit cultivation.
This Bio represents the real orchard experience of Deepak Orchard, based on hands-on farming since 2015.
Fruits, Dry Fruits, Nursery and Seasonal Produce
Today, our orchard grows a wide variety of apples, including Royal Delicious, Golden Delicious, Fuji, Gala, and Spur varieties.
We also cultivate rootstock and seedling plants which have been developed and tested over multiple seasons to ensure resilience and long-term performance.
Our produce extends beyond apples. We grow dry fruits such as walnuts and almonds, as well as seasonal fruits including pears, plums, peaches, apricots, and persimmons.
Additionally, we cultivate vegetables to meet local demand.
Orchard Management and Grafting Program
Our orchard also operates a nursery and grafting program, producing healthy plants for sale and supporting other growers in establishing their orchards.
At Deepak Orchard, we manage our orchard throughout the year. After harvest, we focus on soil health, root strength, and moisture balance, while pruning and spacing are carefully planned according to altitude-specific growth behavior.
Seasonal Care and Natural Orchard Practices
Snowfall naturally nourishes the soil, and we adjust our management practices to align with seasonal changes, ensuring consistent growth and high-quality yields.
We harvest fruits only when they are fully mature, assessing each apple individually to maintain flavor, sweetness, and texture.
After harvest, fruits are manually sorted, graded, and packed with care to preserve freshness during storage and transportation.
